Intuitive Reflections

Psychics' Convergence

Ashland to host weekend of tarot cards, massage, fortune-telling

(By Mark Freeman - Mail Tribune - October 30, 2000)

ASHLAND - Sweating out the results of a big job interview? Wonder if your new girlfriend really is THE one? Haven't heard from your current boyfriend lately, and wonder if he's giving you the brush-off?.

Barbara Lee, a professional clairvoyant, says she can help you get the skinny on those sorts of questions before the new boss, the wedding bells or the old boyfriend get around to calling.

Lee focuses her third eye -that behind-the-forehead epicenter of everyone's spirit that discerns all - on clients' energy to give them the answers they seek and the hope and self-confidence they need.

"I tell them they're going to get the job," Lee says. "I'll say yes or no on their relationship.

"When one woman asked me why she hadn't heard from her boyfriend, I had this image of him being totally laid-up in the hospital," Lee says. "And he was."

Barbara Lee Barbara Lee, a professional clairvoyant, says she provides clients with a window into their future. She's organizing a psychic and healing fair this weekend in Ashland.

Lee is taking her powers of perception to the masses this weekend at a psychic and healing fair she's organizing in Ashland.

Lee says she's 98 percent right on her perceptions of people and their problems. She also knows that many people out there think she's 100 percent flake.

"I've gotten to the point where I don't really care what people think of me," says Lee, a 44-year-old Ashland waitress and mother of three. "I'm pretty normal."

And she's looked into the future of her psychic fair, and sees nothing but positive energy.

"If I was a flake, this fair wouldn't be successful," Lee says. "My guidance told me it will be. I believe in what I'm doing."

A Stanford grad who taught English throughout the world, Lee's dabbling in metaphysics seemed to point her into a more active role as a clairvoyant.

"I'd get readings on myself, and people were telling me I was born to be a teacher and a clairvoyant," she says.

She took some workshops and began to focus on reading energy from people, and using that energy to generate predictions for them.

Whether in person or over a coast-to-coast telephone connection, Lee can say a prayer and focus on someone who is concentrating on something important to them.

Lee then gets a vision, often in symbolic forms like a split tree for someone really torn emotionally over something, or a guillotine for a woman whose husband recently died and was "cut off' from the world, she says.

"What I've learned over the years is to really trust what I hear and what I see," Lee says. "It always, always relates to what they're going through."

Lee herself has traveled through the Psychic Fair circuit the past decade, and this week she branches out to hold a fair of her own. Lee's Intuitive Arts and Healing Fair is set for Saturday and Sunday at the Ashland Community Center.

Lee not only does clairvoyant readings but also tarot cards and psychometry, which is a serious version of Johnny Carson's Karnak the Great.

In psychometry, Lee has people write a question on a piece of paper that she holds, concentrates on and then offers an answer.

Most clients come for "clarification" of issues such as whether their lives are on the correct paths.

"I give them different ideas, different tools, and send them on their way," Lee says. "I get great enjoyment from helping people."

The whole idea, she says, is to -give people alternatives to standard counseling practices, help provide answers and provide advice for people - either individually or in psychic reading parties.

"I'm not going to tell them anything that's not in their auric field," Lee says. "My focus is to help people tune into themselves."
